I Finally See

 I Finally See

By Michael Orr

No longer will I sit upon the dais where you place me,

Judging value, worth in outward view where you all face me,

No longer will I let you tell me who I ought to be,

For all I am is clear and plain, at last I finally see.

No longer will I play the games of who cares more or less,

For who thinks I am anything is anybody’s guess,

The only one I truly need is always here with me,

For God’s the one who loves me most, at last I finally see.

No longer will I sacrifice to make the others need me,

Or think that their attention is enough to always feed me,

For I was but a sinner lost when Christ died on a tree,

His all is more than I could ask, at last I finally see.

And now I die unto the world for it cannot compare,

To all the things I have in Him I can’t get anywhere,

And I will dream of things above so vast beyond degree,

For I am His and He is mine, at last I finally see.
