Forever in Our Hearts

 10 I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end - Ecclesiastes 3:10-11

Forever in our Hearts

The days seem to expire,

Much quicker than before,

And as we near the ending,

We see it even more,

The moments pass so quickly,

Until our time departs,

But our life is just a moment,

With forever in our hearts.

The world within our memories,

Will never be again,

Though we try to recreate it,

In our minds now and again,

But the past cannot retain us,

When eternal purpose cries,

For we cannot look behind us,

With forever in our eyes.

We mourn the grief we carry,

We miss the friends we lost,

To see them for a moment,

We’d pay a hefty cost,

But their life is far from over,

If in Christ they made their claim,

For the ones who rest in Jesus,

Have forever in their name.

So we look to strength and purpose, 

In the promise we believe,

For the hope we have in glory,

Is a promise we’ll receive,

Then as Heaven calls us upward,

And the earth becomes our past,

We will all be reunited,

When forever comes at last.
